A fragile peace has settled over Gaza. For the first time in months, families are not running from danger; they are walking back towards what is left of their homes.

But the silence of the ceasefire reveals a landscape of heartbreaking devastation. They are returning to rubble, to memories, to the overwhelming task of starting over from nothing.

This is where our real work begins. The ceasefire has opened a critical window for us to deliver aid and help families rebuild. But that window is closing fast. Winter is coming. We must act now to provide shelter and warmth before the freezing rains turn this struggle into a catastrophe.

The Reality We’re Facing

Around 60–70% of households are unsure where their next meal will come from.

Acute malnutrition affects about 132,000 children, including 41,000 with severe cases needing urgent treatment.

Food availability is critically low due to blockades; less than 20% of households recently received humanitarian food aid.

Hospitals overwhelmed with cases of severe malnutrition and exhaustion.

Over one-third of people go days without eating; adults skip meals to feed children.

As a result, Famine (IPC Phase 5) is confirmed in Gaza, with over half a million people facing starvation, destitution, and death.

For families living through this conflict, hunger is an everyday struggle. Entire communities are trapped in a cycle of poverty, illness, and despair.
